up-cycled horse saddle

money for nothing - BBC UK

A hybrid of leather and canvas, but with a big twist.
The team at BBC Money for Nothing show challenged me to bring some new life to a damaged old horse saddle. So, I put my thinking cap on and worked some Frank Horn magic.

It is a big bag with a roomy interior and a large zip compartment, that can hold up to a 16-inch laptop some documents, and of course debit/travel card slots.

This is made from an extremely durable and heavyweight waterproof canvas, and all the leather used on this is from the saddle except the two shoulder straps.
In the spirit of upcycling and repurposing, I also made 12 customisable keyrings.

It’s been confirmed the new season and episode airs this autumn, so keep your out for it on BBC1.

This is a very different project than usual, but one I feel has a lot of potential for future projects.
